Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden is a large park in Tokyo's Shinjuku and Shibuya districts. It mixes Japanese, English, and French garden design and is one of the city's biggest and most appealing parks.
Originally, the garden was the residence of the Naitō family during the Edo period. It later came under the management of the Imperial Household Agency. Now, it is a national garden overseen by the Ministry of the Environment.
Shinjuku Gyoen is well-known for its cherry blossoms in the spring and its colorful autumn foliage. It offers a peaceful break from the busy city.
